Mr. Kelley joined Kohnen & Patton as a partner in 1988. Prior to 1988, Mr. Kelley held various
management positions in private industry as Chairman of the Board of Basic Packaging Systems,
Inc.; President of Naples Development Company; and Chief Executive Officer of Fleischmann
Enterprises. Mr. Kelley has served as a Director and General Counsel of a variety of private
companies, including a major privately held chemical fertilizer company and an international
company engaged in the construction and operation of chemical fertilizer plants. Mr. Kelley began
his practice in Cleveland, Ohio and was a partner of the Cleveland firm of Walter & Haverfield.
Mr. Kelley maintains an active practice in the areas of corporate and real estate law. His unique
combination of business and law, including participation as a principal in a variety of transactions,
has enabled him to provide clients with both planning and technical advice tailored to their
individual needs and desires. Through his representation of international companies, Mr. Kelley has
worked with financial institutions both in the United States and Europe and maintains a network of
contacts in the international financial community.
Mr. Kelley has gained knowledge of legislative and administrative procedures through a lifelong
involvement in politics. He has used this knowledge to assist clients dealing with administration law;
the regulatory bodies empowered to enforce legislation; and providing legislative assistance where
circumstances require such relief.
